Spinal Manipulation & Mobilization

Spinal manipulation and mobilization techniques are a non-invasive, therapeutic treatment for neck, back and extremity pain or discomfort, as well as osteoarthritis and migraines. Spinal Manipulation is the traditional high-velocity low-amplitude (HVLA) thrust that often results in an audible “pop,” as your provider uses their hands to apply controlled force to a specific joint, while the body is positioned in a specific way. Alternatively, Spinal Mobilization is a low-force or gentle chiropractic technique that can be applied after careful consideration of the patient’s pathology, size, comfort level, and/or preference

Dry Needling

Dry needling is a myofascial release technique of soft-tissue using acupuncture needles to release myofascial trigger points, knots, or adhesions. Dry needling technique can be used to treat disease associated with muscles, tendons, ligaments, and fascia. Dry needling can treat conditions with musculotendinous origin. Some examples include, but not limited to are: decrease range of motion, headaches, back pain, shin splints, shoulder pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee pain, tennis and golfers elbow are just a few of the many conditions that can be resolved with dry needling technique. Every dry needling session includes both examination and treatment of the affected area. Your provider uses their hands to evaluate the texture, tightness and movement of muscles and fascia. Abnormal tissues are treated by inserting a needle into the affected area. By using a combination of, “twisting and pumping,” myofascial adhesions are treated and normal tissue function is restored.

Myofascial Release Technique

Myofascial Release Technique is soft-tissue-based massage technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. Headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, shoulder pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee problems, and tennis elbow are just a few of the many conditions that can be resolved quickly and permanently with myofascial release.  Every myofascial release session includes both examination and treatment. Your provider uses their hands to evaluate the texture, tightness and movement of muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments and nerves. Abnormal tissues are treated by combining precisely directed tension with very specific patient movements.

Graston Technique®

Graston Technique® treats scar tissue, which limits range of motion, and in many instances causes pain, that can prevent normal muscle function. Graston Technique® incorporates a patented form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization that enables your provider to effectively detect and treat scar tissue anywhere in the body. Graston® tools are stainless steel instruments used to “comb over” and “catch” on any fibrotic tissue present, which immediately identifies the areas of restriction. Once the tissue has been identified, the instruments are used to break up the scar tissue and improve function.

Therapeutic Cupping

Therapeutic Cupping involves placing a vessel on the skin and reducing the air pressure inside it either using a hand pump or by heating the air with a fire source. This drop in air pressure pulls tissues into the cup which creates separation in the underlying tissues, potentially releasing adhesions within. Additionally, cupping draws blood into the underlying tissues which aids in muscle relaxation. For safety we use hand pump cupping during mobile house call chiropractic treatments.

Kinesiology Taping

Kinesiology taping is a therapeutic method designed to facilitate the body’s natural healing process by providing support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting the body’s range of motion. Kinesiology taping techniques have a “lifting” effect on the skin that can alleviate pain, facilitate lymphatic drainage and decrease inflammation. Kinesiology tape is latex-free, waterproof and wearable for days at a time.

Corrective Exercise

Corrective exercise is a functional movement system that generally includes a series of specific exercises to aid in the rehabilitation and prevention of injuries to your major joints, such as the knee, ankle, hip, shoulder, etc. Your provider will determine which exercises are appropriate for you, assist you with performing them correctly during your visit and educate you on how and when to perform them at home, for best results.

Sports Physical (Pre-participation Physical Evaluation)

Most middle and high school sports activities require student athletes to complete a Pre-participation Physical Evaluation (PPE). A PPE is a clinical examination used to evaluate a student’s physical ability to safely participate in sports or a specific sport. The standard exam covers personal health history, family health history, injury identification, risk assessment and internal organ assessment. Your provider will also assess if any musculoskeletal issues are present.
